May New Look: Embark on Self-Renewal

Happy Friday! In the blink of an eye, we are standing on the threshold of May. The flowers are in full glory, the daylight is stretching longer, and that burst of “New Year energy” from January feels like a lifetime ago.

By this point, those grand resolutions have either become second nature or—let’s be honest—have been tucked away in the back of the closet along with our winter coats. If your fitness routine hit a snag over the holidays, or your meditation goals lost out to a few extra hours of sleep, don’t be discouraged!

May isn’t just a change of seasons; it’s the perfect moment for a total reset. Listen to your inner voice: adjust, reset, or pivot. Personal growth has no deadline—starting now is exactly the right time.

Why Clean Beauty Matters Now

One of my ongoing goals for 2026 has been swapping out my makeup and skincare for cleaner, more sustainable options. As the weather warms up, our skin’s needs change, and we become even more aware of what we’re putting on our bodies.

What exactly is “Clean Beauty?” Since the industry is largely unregulated, “clean” is a term used for products made without ingredients shown or suspected to harm human health. Our skin is our largest organ, and with the increased sun exposure and environmental elements that come with spring and summer, using natural, non-toxic ingredients just makes sense. My daughter introduced me to Credo, and it has become my go-to for finding brands that actually care about what’s inside the bottle.

I’m still learning, but I’ve successfully transitioned several staples in my routine. Here is what is currently in my makeup bag as we head into May:

My Current Clean Beauty Favorites

  • Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil: I’ve used this for five years and it’s a total holy grail. It’s rich in Vitamins A & E, absorbs quickly, and is perfect for balancing skin that might be getting a bit more congested with the humidity.
  • Saint Jane Luxury Lip Cream: A skincare-hybrid lipstick infused with CBD and botanicals like sunflower and avocado oils. It’s incredibly soothing for sun-kissed lips.
  • Jones Road The Best Blush: Created by Bobbi Brown, this talc-free powder gives the perfect natural flush. I use the shade P.O.P. to give my cheeks that “just spent a day in the garden” glow.
  • Westman Atelier Vital Pressed Skincare Powder: This is ultra-sheer and protects against blue light and free radicals. It smooths pores without feeling heavy—essential for warmer May afternoons.
  • Ilia C Beyond Triple Serum SPF 40: SPF is a non-negotiable this month! This 3-in-1 serum features Vitamin C and Niacinamide with mineral SPF 40. It leaves a glowy finish with zero white cast.
  • Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Drops: My favorite foundation alternative. It’s loaded with Tsubaki oil and Ginseng to improve skin texture while providing breathable, light-to-medium coverage.
  • RÓEN BEAUTY 11:11 Eye Shadow Palette: These metallic cream-to-powder shades are stunning in the spring sunlight. Pro tip: Apply with your fingers before doing the rest of your face, as they can be a little messy!
  • ILIA True Skin Serum Concealer: A lightweight, creaseless formula that brightens with Vitamin C. It’s perfect for covering any seasonal redness or dark circles.
  • Tower 28 OneLiner Multi-Liner: I love the shade Fill Me In. It’s a moisturizing, creamy-matte liner that doesn’t tug—perfect for a defined but natural lip.
  • Ellis Brooklyn Myth Eau de Parfum: My signature scent for years. With notes of bergamot, tiger orchid, and musk, it feels sophisticated yet fresh for the transition into summer.

I’m still finishing up a few of my older products because I hate to waste, but I’m excited to keep discovering new clean alternatives.

Am I missing out on any of your favorites? As we move into the warmer months, I’d love to hear what clean beauty products you are loving!

Have a wonderful weekend, stay safe, and enjoy the sunshine!
